Sunday November 5, 2006 was an open house as well as the inauguration of a new pump for the Service incendie de Ste-Justine de Newton.
Many residents were present at station 20. Visitors came mostly from the municipality of Ste-Justine de Newton but residents and fellow firefighters from Ste-Marthi, St-Clet and Riviere Beaudette, from whence comes the director of the Ste-Justine de Newton department.
Everyone was present to see the municipality’s new acquisition. A remarkable exit was made by the vehicle. Once the now truck came out of hiding the priest proceded with the benediction of the vehicle.
There were also explanations as well as a demonstration of class A foam by the director, people could try using portable extinguishers on a class B fire and firefighters were available to give prevention information. All of the department’s vehicles were on display outside the station.
I would like to thank all of the personnel of the fire department, the minicipal councillors, our priest and especially Mme. Thérèse Asselin, Mme. Suzanne Jones and Bernard Cnudde for their light lunch. Not to be ignored are sponsors Superieur Propane and Les semances Marleau of St-Polycarpe for door prizes.
