At about 10:50, September 8, 2006 the Service Incendie de Rivière
Beaudette received a call for a fire in the small garage behind the
Ste-Claire-d'Assise Church.
Firefighters from Rivière Beaudette, under the direction of
Director Richard Germain, helped by firefighters from St-Polycarpe,
St-Télesphore et St-Zotique fought the fire to save the church. Happily
the exterior wall of the church is brick and the fire did not propagate to
the church.
Units on the scene were 218 (Rivière Beaudette pump), 318
(Rivière Beaudette tanker) 518 (Rivière Beaudette Emergency
Unit), 221, 321 and 521 from St-Polycarpe, 322 and 522 from
St-Télesphore, 223 and 523 from St-Zotique. The sûreté du Québec
detachement from MRC Vaudreuil-Soulange Ouest as well as
Hydro-Québec were also on the scene.
